The Power of Visualization

Has it really been over a month? Wow time is just flying by. You’ll be happy to know that I am now gainfully employed at, not one, but two jobs which is one of the reasons why I haven’t blogged in over a month. The other reason is that I slipped into a little bit of a mental rut that I’ve been struggling to get out of for a couple of weeks now. I’m going to share with you exactly what happened because there is a valuable lesson to be learned in this tale.

Streamlining the Business

There are many lessons that the universe wants to teach me but the most pressing one, I think, is the value of focused effort. I’ve been putting a lot of thought into my business and the strategy that I should take to grow it to the level that I know I can take it. I have so many ideas and I made the mistake of believing that I can do them all at the same time and they would all be wildly successful.

The truth is that I only have enough time and energy to focus on one. This was a hard fact to face. I want to work on all of these ideas floating around in my head but my mind, my heart and my life are not in a place where I can do that. I’m trying to leap over tall buildings when, in actuality, I’m only able to walk around them.

Meeting My Higher Self

My dreams come in three different flavors; Regular, Precognitive and Enlightening. Regular dreams are the by-products of my mind organizing itself and assimilating the information accumulated that day. Precognitive dreams are glimpses into the future. I’ve had several of these throughout my life and I recognize them by an acute sense of Déjà vu coupled with memories of the dream when they come true. Enlightening dreams are lessons that I need to learn. Since I began my pursuit into Lucid Dreaming, I’ve had three of this kind including last night’s dream.

Lucid Dreaming Challenge No. 1

Leave a comment | | Print This

Last week I began my path towards becoming a Lucid Dreamer. As a first step on that path, I needed to begin recording my dreams. Well as there is no such thing as a life path paved in gold, I stepped right into the first pothole the very next night.

Lucid Dreaming

On Friday (January 18th), I had a lucid dream or rather a moment of lucidity in my dream. If you are unfamiliar with the concept, Lucid Dreaming is the act of waking up in your dreams. You are not awake per se but rather you become aware that your physical body is asleep and that you, in fact, are dreaming.

I can’t remember everything that happened. I do remember there were a lot of people going to and fro and it was in the midst of this chaos that I suddenly becoming “aware”. Having read about lucid dreaming in the weeks prior, I knew that my window of opportunity was small.

When I Grow Up…

…I want to be a Polymath.

A Polymath is someone who is knowledgeable in a variety of subjects. It is also known as being a Universal Genius or a Generalist. Think Benjamin Franklin, Leonardo da Vinci or McGuyver. I’ve always dreamed about being trapped in a broom closet and knowing that mixing the glass cleaner with the bleach will make an acidic compound that will burn the lock open on the door so I can make my escape. Yeah.

I first came across the concept of Polymath when doing a search on the term Renaissance Man. I had heard the term when watching the episode of Flavor of Love Girls: Charm School where Mo’nique calls Brooke a whore, to which Brooke takes exception to being called a whore and then goes outside and flashes her boobs on national television. Classic.
